Client Work for Teague
Accessible Aviation Lavatory
Creating lavatory concepts specifically designed for low vision/blind, reduced mobility (wheelchair), deaf/hard of hearing, and neurodivergent individuals.
Duration: 2 weeks
Collaboration with Alana
Internship at Teague
WHY
To give individuals with disabilities the freedom to fly comfortably and safely, without compromise; something that should’ve been done decades ago.
Design Opportunity
Lavatories in aviation aircrafts have been shrunken down beyond imagination, making it nearly impossible for individuals who have reduced mobility (wheelchairs), are blind/low vision, and neurodivergent to use the bathroom.
Terrible accidents that resulted in even death, have occurred due to the ridiculously unaccessible design of lavatories.

User Considerations
Designing for four key disability groups to create a lavatory experience that is intuitive, inclusive, and supportive for all passengers.

The Goal
Create new concepts for three key lavatory features: flush control, grab-bars, and sinks, with the goal to integrate accessibility & aesthetics.
